We have a Full Moon in Libra on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 2:09 am EST
Sun in Aries until April 19, 2017
Mercury is Retrograde in Taurus
Venus is retrograde in Pisces
and Mars is in Taurus
About Full Moon in Libra
The Moon represents the soul, our urge to feel content and rooted. The moon also represents our soul qualities, emotional needs & reactions, the home and short term cycles. The Full Moon represents the inner self and end of a cycle. Since endings represent change, they can be very emotional as the brightness of the moon shows us what it is that we need to change. The Libra energy is represented by the words balance and intimacy. Libra is the host, diplomat, peacemaker, fine-artist and the graceful lover. The cardinal energy that Libra embodies correlates with the principle of action, and symbolizes initiating movements of energy in a definite direction. The element of Air, also embodied through Libra, is correlated with the mind’s sensation, perception, and expression, especially related to personal interaction and to geometrical thought forms and abstract ideas.
About Sun in Aries
The Sun represents our life purpose. It generates our urge to shine, live, create, and represents vitality, charisma, creation, identity, life purpose, creativity. Aries energy represents courage and action, and is also the dare-devil, warrior, leader, pioneer, and heroic adventurer. The cardinal energy of Aries correlates with the principle of action, and symbolizes initiating movements of energy in a definite direction. The Fiery energy of Aries expresses the warming, radiating, energizing life principle which can manifest as enthusiasm, faith, encouragement, and the drive to express self.
Time to pick out the weeds
A couple weeks ago we had the beginning of the beginning, and we were being asked to plant seeds for our new future. For this moon cycle, it feels like the universe is asking us to take a step back and assess the work that we have done so far, and rework the ideas that we have acted upon. Seeds are beginning to sprout and so are the weeds. But with Mercury retrograde in Taurus, and Venus moved back into Pisces, we can’t tell the weeds from the seedlings. We may be tempted to pull out all the weeds and the seedlings because everything is looking muddled and unorganized. But this too will pass.
Be patient and take your time. Pull out the plants that you know are the weeds and leave the rest for now. I know that this might sound weird especially if you aren’t into gardening. Another way of putting it, is that on this Full Moon in Libra, we may be wrapping things up because this represents a time of culmination. The feeling may be to ditch the whole project or idea, but don’t. We do have Mercury retrograde, so we are being asked to reassess, reevaluate and reorganize our thoughts.
What this all means to you!
We have Mercury retrograde in Taurus until April 20. For this retrograde cycle, Mercury moves back into Aries until May 16, then finally goes back into Taurus where it started. On May 3rd Mercury, does go direct. This energy offers us the opportunity to reflect on the ideas that we put into play during the last New Moon cycle, when we had both the Moon and Sun in Aries. This is a good time to ask yourself, what have I been able to move forward on, and what has stalled?
Since Mercury is in the earth sign of Taurus, this may pertain to bringing a thought or idea into physical form, but Venus in Pisces is asking us to reassess our motivations. So just take a breather and try to work on projects that are already in progress. It also may be, that you have taken on too many projects at the same time, so make and list and prioritize.
This very focused question is highlighted because we also have Venus retrograde. The ruling planets of Taurus and Libra are both Venus.
If you are unsure about something put it at the bottom of the list, you will get more clarity later on in the month when Mercury moves back into Aries on April 20th and Venus moves back into Aries on April 28th. Until then, this emotional Venus retrograde in Pisces may create the urge to make an emotional decision. Of course, if the urge is there and you’re feeling it, and this is something that you have been thinking about for a long time, then go for it. Just be mindful that you may have to do some tweaking next month.
The Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will feel this Full Moon the most. As a reminder, the cardinal energy correlates with the principle of action, and symbolizes initiating movements of energy in a definite direction.
This dynamic combination of planets signifies new beginnings and may highlight the growing pains that we are going through. The I, me, and my, of the private self (Sun in Aries) is in contrast with the public self that includes the we, us and them (Moon in Libra).
Just to recap, Aries represents the personal self, Taurus represents Finances and possessions and Libra is representative of partnerships and marriage. We also have Mars in Taurus, so the creations that are close to our hearts are front and center
This is where we need to find the balance. How can we live our interior truth, and still exist in the public world with the people that we are closest to, and still be happy? This is the internal struggle!
Bright Blessings, Gwen Houghton
